Dil Chahta Hain

You might have heard the ghazal sung by Jagjit Singh "Ye daulat bhi le lo, Ye shohrat bhi le lo
Bhale cheen lo mujhse meri jawani,
Magar Mujhko lauta do bachpan ka saawan,
woh kagaz ki kashti, woh baarish ka paani."
Its a heart touching ghazal, one of my favourites In continuation with the ghazal, just adding something tangy treat,
Dil Chahta hai, aaj phir choti ban jaun,
Roz subah subah chutti ke bahane banaun,
Aur assembly me aankhe khol ke prayer gaun,
Wo class me chupke chupke tiffin kholu,
Aur pakde jaane par pet dard ka jhooth bolu,
Din bhar school me masti marun,
Aur bus me juniors par rob jhadun,
Wo har din homework adhura rah jaye,
aur agle din meri copy ghar par rah jaye,
Har roz doston se ruth jaoon,
aur phir bhav kha ke maan jaoon.
Dil Chahta hai aaj phir choti ban jaun.

Really cute song. Reminds me of the days when I used to feign stomach upset to stay away from school. and then the times when we spent hours talking nonsense when we got to schoool.

khawb dekhe hi nahi toot gaye,ye 'bachapan' tujhse mile bhi nahi tum rooth gaye.ek aur bachpan ki tamanna liye jeete hai hum, is umar na sahi agali wali to baaki hai.

I used to lay WWF all the time..doing ma slams on others and breakin window pane..and getting punishment from teacher..

hmmmm.... We strive for those days what we have lost...You just made me remember some golden days.... I never wished to skip school for a change.... And whenever i made an excuse the next day the same excuse was fact.... Fights wid friends were forgotten in ten minutes today fights wid someone takes so much time to resolve... Would write something on memories... Thanks ......

true...in this world of deadlines & pressures, (and with lotsa ambitions that we have for ourselves), such every one of us hopes that we return to those stress-free and happy days...atleast temporarily..:)..atleast we wud not have to search for sum 'exciting' thing to do evry weekend to beat the stress :)
