Has Tendulkar dishonoured National Flag?
Sachin ready to chop Indian pride |
Controversies in the Indian Cricket are not coming to an end anyhow. The earlier controversies have not ended and a new controversy has begun.
Now Tendulkar is being courted again for the dishonour he has brought to nation?
Cricket is just like a religion in India. The sentiments of we, the Indians are so deeply rooted with Cricket that we couldn't tolerate India being out of world cup contest in the first stage itself. Now, a new controversy has arisen.
One of the Indian news sites has reported that Sachin has cut a tri-colour cake at a party hosted by a Non-Resident Indian in Jamaica just before the World Cup on March 10.
The photograph shows the icon of Indian Cricket ready to chop the tri colour cake in the form of Indian National Flag. Not even this, several other star players like M.S. Dhoni, Ajit Agarkar, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh and an Indian diplomat, the Indian High Commissioner to Jamaica, K L Agrawal were also present there and cheering and clapping the scene.
The website said that cutting of a cake bearing the colours of the Indian national flag was an insult under the Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Act, 2003.
Can we do this to our national pride? |
If the claims are true, can these cricket players can now be called "Heroes of India."

Well technically the ashoka chakra in the cake din jhave 24 bands..So it aint technically the flag replica..
to me it looks like a issue over blown....I mean we should be allowed to use the tri color..until recently we couldt use it anywhere..
Wellit may be seen as love for country too..:)
Hey!
I am sure Sachin did it all in naivety. He is far too a proud Indian to disrespect the national flag intentionally. I am also sure that he will apologise, soon. Thanks Aditi for visiting me. Take Care.
Please visit me to read about a small encounter that I had with two greats of Indian film industry. Also posted is the final part of the lecture delivered by R Gopalakrishnan to IIM students.
Keep Writing. Keep Smiling. Keep reading.
Love!

Now planning some more blog alongwith my friend.
Thnx 4 ur continued support.
Bye & have a gud day.
thanks for u'r comments in my blog. sachin wouldn't have to do that...
it will be better to call them "stars" instead of "heros"..
The concentrate more on endorsements thn the game
well, really the poor performance of cricketers can be forgetton but the insult to national flag will make a very big issue and recently sachin has also commented something in public which he is not right...
Let see where our so called blue heroes will go...
In b/w thanks for coming to my blog and appreciating it...
Be it some Websites or media or individual, Everyone requires name and fame, and for that they usually involve them selves with big stars and icons and creating unnecessary controvercies.
First of all, this is not a flag, it's just a tricolour cake, which is designed like the National Flag.
Secondly the rules and regulations for dishonouring the National Flag has changed so much with time.
So there is nothing to hype about. and secondly when it comes to Sachin, I know if he feels something like that, he will definitely appologise.
Personally I feel there is nothing wrong in it.
Seriously - How does it matter?! Respect for your country comes from within .. not from some rule book. All he's doing is cutting a cake.
If such trivialities are considered as disrespect for a nation we seriously need to re-think our priorities as a nation!!
And I really don't think its fair to go far enough to call cricketers heroes either. They're just sportsmen who represent the country (and sometimes not quite that well!)
There are few things which is inculcated than induced... Love for the country is one such thing...agreed for some people cutting the replica of flag in cake would be dishonour to country but what happens when on the name of country communities are divided ....If we really love the country there are various things we should be disturbed at ..rather than looking at internet picture material and feeling disturbed about it....
hi ... thank you for visiting my mind!
All the best:)
sachin didn't ordered the cake,,and it is obvious that during such occasions you don't look at the design of cake ,etc...so,it's not his fault..
i feel sorry for Sachin foe what is happening against him...
The cricket controversies will continue as long as controversial guys are in the team and its management and that’s for sure.
It is his (Sachin’s) notion followed by dirty action that created dishonor to our nation. Under what circumstances he has opted to chop Indian Tri-color in the form of a cake? Thinking too great of himself and un? able guy? & Whose brain is behind this utter non-sense- an act without any sense but with full of non-sense that brought disrespect and dishonour to our nation. Will BCCI take some initiative to take action for this or keep it’s eyes and ears shut?
Yes- there is a good old saying “ what you sow, so you reap”- and it has been proved. Sachin has sowed the seeds of disrespect to our nation and in turn he with the entire team got out of WC earliest, dejected, dishonored, humiliated and shame. Is it not true?
The saddest part of it is, the entire team with some dignitaries had witnessed such an unpardonable act-Shameless clowns.
Guys please change your attitude for a better aptitude and outlook to bring about a change within you all and to bring name and fame to you motherland.
They are to be called HORRORS of Indian Cricket and not HEROES- that’s all I can say now.
JK
