Dirty Politics slayed by Supreme Court
The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed the union government's petition seeking revival of 27 per cent reservations for other backward classes (OBC) students in centrally-funded higher educational institutions.
In a brief one-line order, a bench of Justices Arajit Pasayat and LS Panta dismissed the government plea and said: "We are not inclined to vary our March 29 order" - which suspended the law for caste-based quotas in educational institutions like the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).
In a stinging remark, the bench observed, "You (are supposed to) frame the rule and then play the game. But here you are playing the game first and then framing the rule."
The matter will come up for final hearing in August.
So, its a slap on the face of the HRD minister Arjun Singh and our prime minister ManMohan Singh, who are again ready to divide our country on the basis of caste and creed.
Thanks to judiciary once again..

@ Ashish, Rajeev & Beekay
Thankx 4 ur support. Yea, Only few (corruption is prevalent there too) courts are keeping the justice alive.
@ Soul & Body
Corruption has spread it roots all over India. Courts are no exception. But few such decisions are always to be welcomed
hey aditi......there a column saying submit when u get in the site.....type the no:9604780 in it and then click submit.....think u understood
Dear Aditi,
See in this country any amount of hue and cry will not bring about favourable changes in the larger interst of the publc, affected and needy ones.(that being the invited fate)
My dear now the hearing has been advanced for May 08, 2007 by the Apex court. Wait and see, hold your heart so that you don't get afflicted by the new verdict of the Apex Court. I can not say any thing more than this at the mom.
It looks like ,India is a foot ball, and people in power, position, influence, hold etc are palying with it and its going to be like another cricket debacle of recent times. What else to say.
May God prevail upon and inculcate good sense in people in power, position, influence, hold etc. to take WISE decision based on only merit and not VICE decision based on three "C"s.
