Sania Mirza, the hot star

"Everyone dreams of playing Wimbledon and winning it. I am glad this dream came true for me so fast in my career. It feels great after so many years of struggle." -Sania Mirza

Sania
Mirza, the hot, emerging talent in Indian sports. Tennis was never so popular in India before Sania's entry. Although Paes, Bhupathi and few others have always done a lot, still, Sania is known for her style, fashion, looks, sincerity and of course tennis.

Sania has always been a role model for women. What I've like about her that although she has been criticized several times by some community for her short dresses, she always remained calm maintaining her dignity and saying, its need of the game, which really is.

She was born on Nov.15, 1986 at Mumbai although brought up at Hyderabad
Strikingly, she is the first Indian to get into first 50 rankings by WTA and obviously the highest ranked female tennis player ever from India. She also became the first Indian woman to reach fourth round of Grand Slam Tournament at US Open 2005. In the same year, she also reached third round of Australian Open and also became the first Indian woman to win a WTA singles title in the Hyderabad Open finals.
At the 2006 Doha Asian Games, She won silver in women's singles and gold in mixed doubles with Laender Paes. She has still lot more to do, lot more to travel for India, for herself and obviously for all of us (her fans).

Even if she has a downward plunge in her carrier from now (which I hope she does not), I would still salute her for what she has done so far. She has done what no other Indian female sportswoman has done, she is definitely a gr8 role model for budding sportswomen in our country.
